EPCs not needed

That's right, according to a survey conducted on behalf of Co-operative Bank Mortgages - who just happen to be promoting a 'green cash advance mortgage' - over two thirds of the population have taken steps to reduce their carbon footprint.

Two thirds! And that was just last year!

Looking at the measures adopted by the great British public - well, the 1555 people earning cash for each online survey completed anyway - we learn the most popular newly-adopted green measure was... recycling household waste (66%)!

Hardly voluntary, is it?!

Second most popular green improvement (61%), apparently, was to turn off electrical items (not leaving them on stand-by).

That would be the time, on the 22nd May, when you yanked the TV set from the wall after watching BBC Parliament... Still counts, dunnit?!

Here's a good one: The 8th most popular measure, the survey claims, was 25% of us having new double glazing installed!

Pilkington's must've been creaming it in last year!

The survey also concludes that all 1555 survey respondents will spend £13 billion on green home improvements... that's going to be one helluva monthly mortgage payment then!
