Payment schedule agreed
Quidos have accepted a payment plan from Home Energy Surveys Ltd (HES) to settle debts arising from a deal made last year to train its student Domestic Energy Assessors.
Agreement was reached during a crisis meeting between the two companies on 18th January 2008 and averts the threat of closure HES faced after Quidos initiated proceedings to have the business wound-up last year.
Glimmer of hope for DEAs
The news offers some glimmer of hope to over 100 trainee DEAs caught up in the battle: Once HES makes the final payment due under the instalment plan - scheduled for 4th March 2008 - Quidos then has to honour its remaining training obligations, thus freeing students to qualify and finally pursue work.
I understand that one payment has so far been paid to Quidos, as agreed under the first instalment.
Should the debt-plan fail, Quidos can immediately petition the Courts to have the company wound-up with minimum delay.
